Job Description:

Purpose: The National Sr. Director, Private Events will play a pivotal role in driving revenue generation through our private event business and shaping the organization's overall event sales strategy. Furthermore, the National Sr. Director of Private Events responsibility is to oversee the strategic planning, execution, and management of all events hosted by Meow Wolf across all of its exhibitions. They are tasked with collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional on-brand event experiences for attendees while ensuring operational efficiency by setting standards and expectations across the private event business.

Location: Remote, providing candidate lives within one of the following markets: Santa Fe/Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, or New York.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $141,565 - $195,360. Compensation for candidates varies based upon location and experience.

This position is also eligible for a bonus of up to 15% of base salary. Bonuses are not guaranteed and depend on the successful achievement of pre-determined company and individual performance goals.

Deadline: The deadline for submitting applications for this position is May 31st, 2024. Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.

As the National Sr. Director, Private Events, you will refine and develop Meow Wolf's private event business strategy across our current and future portfolio of exhibitions/venues.

How you will do it:

* See beyond today's activities to develop and execute sales strategies across all of our locations that will increase both the revenue and profitability of our groups/private events business. Communicate and align priorities with partners across the organization.

* Monitor leads, sales performance, and trends to identify growth opportunities. Establish and provide regular reporting and updates to management regarding performance across all sites. Lead, communicate, and be accountable for private event objectives including long-/short-term business plans and annual budgets.

* Provide leadership and direction to exhibition private event teams. Translate broad company objectives into specific action plans for the team. Align all sites on roles and responsibilities, priorities, and strategies to deliver required results. Be a thought partner to respond to situations outside of standard operating procedures.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with national clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements. This includes - but is not limited to, conducting site tours, showcasing facilities, amenities, event capabilities, and delivering compelling presentations to highlight the unique selling points of each location.

* Partner with Exhibition Development regarding private event requirements at future sites - including but not limited to, physical space, guest flow, labor resources, technology/equipment. Ensure future sites have flexibility to meet diverse needs of clients within a market.

* Collaborate with marketing partners to develop marketing strategies, promotional materials and online campaigns that target specific audiences and drive private event business. Increase the reach of the Company's private event business through optimization of search-engine-optimization, inclusion in local/national registries, and the performance and clarity of existing promotional and website assets.

* Partner with sites to develop and implement strategic partners and preferred vendors that will drive profitability, reliability and still maintain a local presence where possible.

* Partner with cross functional stakeholders on further opportunities with F&B, merchandise and group sales Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of hospitality for clients.

* Identify, communicate, implement, and hold sites accountable to hospitality best practices. Ensure that best practices are consistently instituted across sites that enable scalability while allowing flexibility to local needs -his includes consistent job descriptions, onboarding, and training for applicable functions and roles.

To be successful in this role:

* College degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or other related Business Operations, or equivalent professional experience.

* 10+ years experience in an event leadership role including event planning, management and experience at multi-unit venues.

* Strong financial acumen, prior P&L responsibility.

* Experience in concept design and business development for venues or exhibitions.

* Leadership skills that manage a balance between creative innovation and operational feasibility.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Ability to partner collaboratively across diverse disciplines in the organization and ability to lead others in the development of strategy, planning, and execution of deliverables.

* Ability to quickly identify problems and proactively develop solutions.

* Current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in event planning and venue management.

* Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

* Hands-on experience with event planning software, CMS, ticketing software and point-of-sale systems.

* Good judgment in difficult and complicated management situations.

* Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.

Work environment & physical demands:

* Work Environment: This position is remote-friendly - near location preferred.

* Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to remain in stationary positions such as sitting or standing for long periods of time. Entering text or data into a computer or other machine, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information to guests and co-workers. The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. * Work Schedule: This is a full-time position; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

* Supervisor Responsibilities:

Ensures all work centers are appropriately staffed by partnering with HR on hiring efforts and making selection decisions.

Manages labor, productivity, payroll, scheduling, quality control, and safety measures for your team.

Communicates and implements all updates on operational practices to the supervisory and floor staff team.

Cultivates a culture of feedback by delivering timely and meaningful feedback through coaching and corrective actions; prepares and delivers performance evaluations.

Establishes and trains staff on best practices and standards. Ensure staff receives training and support to provide opportunities for growth/development.

* Travel: Medium to frequent travel.
