The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Assistant Director for the Honors Program at the Daytona Beach campus. Reporting to the Honors Program Director, the Assistant Director provides all necessary clerical support and student advisement for Honors Program operations and coordinates with the Director to initiate and manage Honors Program activities and involvement on the Daytona Beach Campus and in the surrounding community. A strong commitment to student success is critical for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate maintenance tasks of Honors Program as defined by Honors director: tasks include but are not limited to maintaining and upgrading Honors Program general website and Canvas site; maintaining Honors contract data base; utilizing Campus Solutions and Imaging software consistently to evaluate student records; assist with review and admission of incoming Honors Program students; manage Honors Center general supplies inventory; manage Honors student databases in Campus Solutions (My Advisees; Student Groups). Review student performance records at the end of each term to determine potential probation or dismissal status. Manage student employees and student employee time sheets.
  • Suggest, develop, and manage new, director-approved Program/student initiatives consistent with Honors Program mission statement. Assist with coordination of events and other initiatives. Also prepare annual reports and presentations for the Honors Program; collaborate closely with the Office of Undergraduate Research to ensure integral involvement of Honors Program students in funded research efforts. Serve on search committees as requested.
  • Advise Honors Program students; advise Honors Student Association. Maintain active personal and digital communication with students.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to "think outside the box."

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working closely with students.
  • Previous involvement with an Honors Program.
  • Passion for broader community engagement.
  • Understanding of a range of environmental and social issues.
  • Proficiency with Workday.
