Overview

As regional technical project lead you will partner with external Clearing Houses and internal business and technology teams globally to enhance and expand the Bank's Interest Rate, Credit & Foreign Exchange (FX) derivative clearing capabilities for the US and Americas region. Part of the Global Clearing Technology team you will be responsible for ensuring US Over the Counter (OTC) Derivatives Clearing businesses have the front-to-back technology tools and controls to operate and grow their business in a changing and evolving regulatory and market landscape. Deutsche Bank is growing its OTC Clearing business in the region and investing in technology, operations, and business infrastructure to facilitate this. This is a great opportunity to develop and build a regional presence from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for defining, owning, and delivering on the US regional technology book of work

  • Managing relationships with regional Clearing Houses and ensuring Deutsche Bank's technical compliance with their change roadmaps and rulebooks

  • Understand the impacts of market/regulatory change and the impacts it could have on the Bank's technology stack supporting Clearing businesses

  • Define solid engineering solutions in adherence with the Banks strategic engineering and data principles

  • Become a subject matter expert in the Business functions and technology applications that support the OTC Derivatives Clearing businesses

  • Manage business and technology stakeholder relationships, input into estimation, budgeting, and benefits analysis for proposed project deliveries for the Business

How You'll Lead

  • Reporting to Global Lead Technology manager for OTC Derivatives Clearing located in London you will interface with global technology application owners and analysts delivering Clearing projects in EMEA and APAC regions

  • Business Stakeholders for US Clearing deliveries and processes will be located primarily across London and New York with Operations and Technology dispersed globally in multiple locations (US, UK, Germany, India, Singapore)

  • External Clearing Houses, Execution Venues & Affirmation Platforms will have projects and roadmaps which require changes internally to the Bank. You will be required to work alongside these external stakeholders, teams and attend external meetings to ensure existing functionality is maintained and ongoing compliance is achieved

Skills You'll Need

  • Moderate Investment Banking experience within a Derivatives (OTC IRS, CDS, FX preferred) environment

  • Moderate proven experience with large scale technology delivery in a multi-application environment

  • Relevant experience managing multi-disciplined teams/projects dispersed globally

  • Technology/Engineering background (either educationally or experience) and detailed knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies

  • Demonstrable knowledge of OTC Derivatives trade lifecycle

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to articulate complex problems and potential resolutions/solutions

  • Data analysis skills and ability to review technical specifications and large complex datasets (Structured Query Language (SQL), fpML)

  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent task whilst considering prioritization and critical path dependencies

  • A hunger to learn and understand complex functions and multiple technical interactions across an application stack

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000 to $203,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
