Job Description

The Business Process Engineer leads, supports, and facilitates process improvement initiatives across multiple functional units for both strategic and continuous improvement efforts. This role is responsible for analyzing and improving our business processes to drive operational efficiency, scalability, and enhanced productivity. Ensure people/process/technical solutions align with strategic initiatives with measurable KPI's and clear definitions around process ownership and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, scoping, and chartering efforts for business process analysis/design projects related to process improvement initiatives. Includes business modeling, documentation of the operating processes, and solution planning as well as supporting the execution of the process solution during implementation
  • Provide process and business consultation services which includes research, analysis facilitation, process modeling, and business process improvement techniques to propose and implement business and system solutions that meet strategic objectives
  • Provide and support periodic reporting to leadership on assigned project activities
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships across business unit/area level of management continuing to promote and broaden the level of business knowledge and the impact of quality/process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in planning sessions with business owners to improve business processes and to prioritize and drive process re-engineering initiatives, including process ownership and governance
  • Perform data analysis on key performance indicators to identify cause and effect relationships, communicate findings clearly and effectively, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement, design and implement process enhancements, and measure the effectiveness of implemented changes
  • Prepares presentation materials to support project initiatives and solicits feedback from the business on relative importance, feasibility, and buy-in
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with business units to ensure a good understanding of the business, and get advanced visibility of changes that would affect overall business productivity and efficiencies
  • Work with front-line leaders to create and update business process documentation, detailed process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure continued accuracy. Monitor and evaluate process performance metrics, such as cycle time, throughput, and error rates, to assess the effectiveness of implemented changes
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities based on their potential impact on efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process walkthroughs to gather insights and validate proposed solutions
  • Continuously identify and address process-related risks and compliance requirements
  • Provide training and support to employees to ensure understanding and adoption of new processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to business process engineering

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of related experience

Knowledge & Experience

  • Advanced in Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using data analysis techniques to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Serve as a resource for large, cross-functional initiatives as needed to provide process improvement subject matter expertise
  • Assist in the rollout of BPM technology to improve the efficiency and visibility of key business processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives/projects within a service organization
  • Strong organizational, team building, and people skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex organization

Work Environment

  • Hybrid Work Environment available once training is completed
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
