Safety Coordinator II

Location: Florida

What you'll be working on...

  • Assist the Safety Manager in achieving departmental goals.
  • Contractor Liaison - primary point of contact with all Contractors for safety and compliance. Review and maintain Master Service Agreements (MSA), Certificate of Insurance (COI), and any other requirements of existing or new contractors. Ensure compliance of contractor Drug & Alcohol Program requirements. Meet with contractors to discuss any issues pertaining to compliance or Inspection reports, as well as, OSHA 300 log. Meet with contractors to discuss O&M Manual review and/or suggestions. Communicate OQ updates/changes to contractors.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and yearly compliance reporting. Assist District Operations with the Regulatory reviews, inspections and requests for information.
  • Assist with developing and maintain Business Unit Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Conduct Site Inspections/Safety Audits, as well as vehicle inspections.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientation.
  • Assist with Business Unit training as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding new contractors for the Business Unit.
  • Assist with the administrating, maintaining and tracking records, i.e. Training, OQ, DOT, etc.
  • Support Company compliance with supplier diversity thru out the Business Unit.
  • Assist with the yearly review of O&M Manual, Security Plans, Emergency Procedures, NFPA 54, NFPA 58, NFPA 30, State and local codes. Works with training to notify contractors of any changes or updates.
  • Inspect monthly fire extinguisher/AED checks.
  • Review monthly Safety Meeting meetings and Near Miss Reporting for the Business Unit.
  • Participate in Business Unit Safety Committee.
  • Ensure current OSHA 300 summary is posted.
  • Promote and stress the importance of understanding and handling customer needs, concerns, and expectations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of, promote, support, and participate in the Company's employee recognition program.

Working Conditions

  • Office and field surroundings.
  • Requires travel at different times.
  • Includes overnights and assignments other than normal business hours.
  • Occasional lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs.

Who you are...

  • Bachelor's degree required or alternative work experience or education as approved by the Business Unit Leader.
  • Must be proficient in the use of standard business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows).
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse work group/environment.
  • Effective communications, time management and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable codes, regulations and technical publications.
