OVERVIEW

The Payroll Lead will oversee and supervise the payroll function, ensuring pay and all related reporting, accruals and journal entries, as well as related employer tax filings are processed on time and with precision, in compliance with regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reports to Global Director, Compensation Strategy, Administration and Payroll, is member of Global People, Culture and EHS Team.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll updates including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions and changes to pay rates.
  • First point of contact for employees for payroll related questions
  • Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions
  • Processes off-cycle manual checks, termination/severance payments and other miscellaneous items as approved by management
  • Reviews and processes payroll adjustments, including Paid Time Off in collaboration with BU and HQ finance partners
  • Ensures policies and procedures are applied to payroll processing, employee data changes, hires and terminations
  • Audits hourly Time and Attendance Edit/Occurrence Point Assignment and "Time Off"
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and company policies
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Participates in establishing the company's payroll guidelines by advising management on needed actions and writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Maintains a wide variety of confidential payroll information, files and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations, champion process optimization and complexity reduction through automation
  • Responds to employee and manager inquiries via telephone, voice mail, email, Teams/RingCentral placing priority on urgent needs
  • Supports Finance & Accounting & collaborates with Human Resources to ensure employee personnel changes are accurately maintained within systems
  • Provides ongoing training for various business units and partners
  • Leads month-end and year-end closing process, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, period-end accruals, W-2's, and the like
  • Other projects as assigned or needed
  • Assist with internal and external audits included in our SOX control framework.
  • Position may involve minimal travel

    Qualifications:
  • Payroll related experience, including in a multi-state multi/country environment
  • General ledger entry and account reconciliation experience
  • Knowledge of payroll practices and principles
  • Ability to meet scheduled deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making ability
  • Ceridian Dayforce, Time & Attendance System Software or other comprehensive HRIS/Payroll system experience
  • Word, Excel, AX and Visual experience a plus

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or other is required
