Job Description

Pay Rate: $18.00 to $22.00 Per Hour.

Position Purpose:

Within the Collection Department's GIS and Planning Team, be a part of an ambitious project to develop our Best in class Asset Management Program.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Nassau County Sewer System GIS update

  • Populate the pipe material and age of 70.000+ Pipe sections representing 3000 miles of sewers in Nassau County
    • Gathering and analyzing data from various sources:
      • Construction As-built drawings.
      • Sewer CCTV inspections reports.
      • Sewer Pole Camera Inspection reports.
      • Engineering reports
      • Sewer System Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

Nassau County Sewer Structural defects list analysis

  • Organize data by type and cost of repairs.
  • Support our GIS specialist in the creation of GIS map layers.

Nassau County Sewer CCTV inspection reporting Database analysis

  • Compile different access database into one.
  • Organize it to be ready for use within our Asset Management system.

Other projects that will allow to improve Nassau County Sewer Asset Management Systems: GIS and Work Order Management Databases.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed mainly inside, but also outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Candidate may be occasionally exposed to some noise, silica, dust, fumes, smoke, gases, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, and vibrations.
  • Candidate may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, and ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water and other liquid materials.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma/GED and rising college student (Freshmen-Graduate).
