Job Description
Description: NSI requires a Warehouse Specialist to support the Logistics and Sustainment program in Jacksonville, FL. Performs warehousing and supply-related management functions in support of NSI and its customers. Such functions include but are not limited to receiving, storing, maintaining inventory accountability, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving material to/from commercial and government sources. Also responsible for pickup and delivery of material, including hazardous material, to/from customers within the local Jacksonville area.

Essential Functions:  The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the overall operation of the warehouse functions of NSI. As such, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that daily operations of the warehouse totally support the requirements of NSI operations. To this end the incumbent will:
  • Process all receipts as soon as possible and ensure material is available for immediate use, shipment of storage.
  • Package material as necessary to protect material during transportation and stowage.
  • Select transportation modes that will ensure material will reach the required destination within established time frames.
  • Receive, segregate, input into inventory management system.
  • Pick up material from various customers on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with the loading/unloading of trucks as necessary utilizing a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or other types of material handling equipment.
  • Maintain proper stowage and manifests (as required) of transported items.
  • Ensure proper placarding of vehicles when required.
  • Ensure any load bearing equipment is inspected prior to use.
  • Maintain the safe, clean operating areas of the warehouse.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
Incumbent may be called upon to assist Office Admin or Warehouse Manager with documentation, data entry and other administrative requirements.
Incumbent shall perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Duties are performed in both a warehouse and office-type environment. Individuals are subject to a wide range of working conditions ranging from unheated/un-airconditioned spaces to outside work areas. Workers are subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases.
Incumbent will be required to drive a forklift, stock picker and delivery vehicle as necessary as well as lift material weighing up to 50 lbs.

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Education: Highschool Graduate

Experience: At least 4 years related experience performing functions listed as Essential Functions. Minimum of four years of the foregoing total experience shall have been in; warehouse operations, utilizing an inventory management system, material handling, material crating, verifying material orders, arranging transportation, and conducting material inventories. Good working knowledge and capable of using Microsoft Office suite including the ability to create simple letters, memo’s, templates in Word and basic spreadsheets in Excel. Must have an understanding of the basic concepts of a relational database for inventory management. Must exhibit an attention to detail that will ensure the accuracy of record keeping.

Qualifications: Must possess a valid Florida Class D or higher driver’s license and the ability to drive a forklift and/or stock picker as well.
  • Must be physically able to drive up to a 5-ton truck.
  • Must have a strong customer service focus.
  • Must be able to read and speak English.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to lift material weighing up to 50 pounds.
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance is Required.  Must be U.S. citizen.
