PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 20 office locations and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast and Northeast areas, is seeking an Associate Vice President of Transportation - Southeast TSMO/ITS - Traffic Lead. We support clients in several diverse markets including the Department of Defense, Transportation, Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial, Retail, and Residential.

Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to support the TSMO/ITS and Traffic practices in the southeast pursuing the growth of TSMO/ITS and Traffic markets. The expectations of the role will be to elevate the discipline and engage with customers to provide and facilitate growth; open offices in target markets expanding PRIME's presence as identified by PRIME's strategic business plans; and to focus on TSMO/ITS and Traffic disciplines providing Program Management overseeing the growth as directed by PRIME management. TSMO/ITS includes, TSMO programmatic policies and procedures, ITS design, ATMS design, Lighting, Electrical, MOT, Smart work-zone, Permitting, and Environmental and other disciplines as growth dictates. Traffic design includes Design Analysis, Signing, Marking, Signal Retiming and Studies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support our TSMO/ITS and Traffic professionals to ensure they have the necessary support in programming, technology, and talent to win and deliver services with the highest of quality. The candidate will serve as Prime's link to professional organizations such as ACEC, ASCE, ASHTO ITS America, and Regional ITS committees.
  • Typical projects will include all manner of TSMO/ITS design work. Candidate's focus will be on the southeast markets but will also span the seven states Prime currently works and may also include other states as well as PRIME AE Group, Inc. continues to investigate other acquisitions in other markets.
  • Knowledge of Open Roads, Blue Beam and ProjectWise are necessary.
  • Manages project delivery for TSMO/ITS/Traffic projects ensuring quality delivery both for our clients and via our TSMO/ITS/Traffic PM's in delivering on scope, schedule, and budgets. The lead will also serve as a point of contact to many of Prime's clients across our markets.
  • Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Controls for ongoing work at the task and contract level. Will also integrate assignments and work priorities of TSMO/ITS/Traffic team members into a comprehensive plan and schedule to fulfill project commitments.
  • Coordinate overlapping projects with the TSMO/ITS/Traffic Practice leaders. Will be a point of contact for other PRIME AE Group, Inc. business lines as requiired.
  • Serves as the TSMO/ITS/Traffic lead with prime marketing as the point of contact and approval of all pursuits and proposals in the TSMO/ITS/Traffic realm. Duties include overseeing the drafting of LOI, Technical, and Price Proposals as well as organizing/leading technical presentations as required.
  • Will build a practice in new markets pursuing and growing talented professionals as business demands arise. Oversees a team of professionals. Will lead in recruiting talent to grow the PRIME AE Group, Inc. TSMO/ITS/Traffic Design practice.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE preferred (may be substituted with PMP certification)
  • 25+ years' experience in and master's degree may substitute for years of experience.
  • Experience in managing staff, projects, and senior management.
  • Experience in opening practices in new markets and growing regional presence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications a must.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 30+ years' experience.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Multiple PE licenses in several states would be preferred.
