This position is responsible for commercial building HVAC/R services which includes being responsible for the overall general maintenance, replacement and repairs of all HVAC facility/property systems. May also assist with minor maintenance on electrical, plumbing, carpentry. This hands-on position has work hours of 8AM - 5PM Tuesday through Saturday or 7AM - 6PM Wednesday through Saturday with additional hours as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 8 years commercial HVAC experience and general building maintenance repair. Prior experience with residential systems a plus

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • HVAC Technical Training Certificate preferred

  • EPA Certificate required

  • Experience with Building Maintenance Systems (BMS) or Computer Based Automation Systems (CBAS) required

  • OSHA 10/40 Certification preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and customer focused skills

  • Understanding of advanced principles of chilled water systems, refrigeration systems and domestic water systems

  • Must have working knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, and/or other general repair skills

  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and be able to operate a motor vehicle

  • Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment

  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for all HVAC system types in a timely manner

  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing preventative services for all HVAC as scheduled

  • Performing emergency HVAC repairs promptly and efficiently

  • May assist with repair lighting circuits (interior, ceiling and cubicle lights, change ballasts) as needed

  • May assist with minor routine facility maintenance and preventative maintenance including light carpentry, drywall repair, painting, caulking, plumbing etc. as needed

  • May assist with company's preventative maintenance program across various trades

  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Expected to be part of an on-call group, and when assigned this responsibility, must be available and be able to respond in accordance to policy.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
