Job DescriptionMaintenance Planner - 1st Shift

Starting Rate: $30/hour

Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

PURPOSE - The primary purpose of this job is to plan, purchase and ensure timely delivery of all raw ingredient and packaging supplies needed to meet the production schedule and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet RPW goals and minimize loss of expired materials.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • Have expert knowledge of material requirement planning, forecasting, and SAP.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships to develop plans to promote procurement opportunities, cost savings and best business practices.
  • Manage the overall ordering and logistic processes of all raw materials and packaging for the plant. Work with the Werner Team to ensure deadlines are met; address all material shortages immediately and any other issue which disrupt the planning schedule.
  • Perform analysis and ordering of all tank farm materials to ensure railroad switches are completed as required, and are in compliance with Kraft-Heinz's standards for on time deliveries and demurrage avoidance.
  • Place orders to ensure timely delivery of raw ingredients based on system utilization, vendor management and best business practices.
  • Run the open PO/STO reports weekly to ensure all materials due to come in are received in accordance with the daily planning schedules.
  • Analyze and determine material planning needs for longer lead time items outside of the 2 week frozen schedule horizon. Make the necessary adjustments to create action plans to mitigate any material shortages or production setbacks.
  • Coordinate meetings internally and externally to promote material planning needs with leaders and corporate procurement personnel.
  • Run material shortage reports daily and react appropriately to expedite materials to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Communicate timely and effectively to schedulers of material shortage impacts so that the schedules can be updated to minimize production downtime and unplanned changeovers.
  • Help manage the expiry ingredient program by analyzing material for usage optimization by communicating with schedulers and other plants.
  • Analyze raw, packaging and wip material weekly to ensure working capital goals are met each month for compliance.
  • Responsible for supporting and participating in new product launches to ensure all materials are setup appropriately and are ready to procure.
  • Analyze and resolve procurement related invoice errors to ensure no disruptions to the business from vendors.
  • Work closely with warehouse operations and inventory control functions to recognize inventory adjustments, cycle count and shelf life expiration that can change the supply plans.
  • Maintain direct contact with suppliers to keep aware of new developments, to encourage compliance of KraftHeinz requirements, and to obtain assistance in emergency situations.
  • Ensure Burris Inventory is reconciled monthly.
  • Participate in yearly QRMP audit and assist in the development of processes and procedures.
  • Accountable for the QRMP system and operation standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
  • Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.
  • Additional responsibilities of this position includes assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES-

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Operations or commensurate experience in other related fields preferred.

At least 2-years' experience in a Manufacturing environment

Excellent Analytical Reasoning Skills, Math Skills, Organizational Skills

Familiar with quality procedures, sanitation requirements, processing capabilities, and raw material consumption.

Time management/organizational/multitasking

Working knowledge of Manufacturing systems (such as SAP) and warehouse management systems (such as WMS)

Working knowledge of DRP and MRP

PC literate (intermediate working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
