Ameresco's Federal Operations & Maintenance Group has a new opportunity for a Team Lead - PV and Battery Energy Storage Operations and Maintenance who is experienced in inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical power generation facilities. We are looking for a qualified candidate to be dispatched from their home to various sites in the Western Region. This position will report to Director - Operations & Maintenance - Federal West.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and providing leadership to Ameresco's electrical team of in-house, on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties across the Western Region of the United States in the day-to-day activities, including scheduling and dispatching, vendor management, meter reading, asset management.

  • Liaising between internal and external Customers, Engineers, Manufacturers, and Field Employees.

  • Remote monitoring of sites using manufacturer's data acquisition systems (DAS) and AssetPlanner to analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, areas for improvement, and to address operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems promptly.

  • Travel to Ameresco Federal sites for preventative and scheduled maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting, repair, removal, and installation of equipment such as batteries, fire systems, solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.

  • Technical Support for electrical field technicians repairing, testing, troubleshooting, inspecting, installing, removing, and maintaining solar and battery energy storage site equipment such as solar panels, batteries, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.

  • Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all tools, equipment and materials needed projects.

  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints.

  • Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to, including training apprentice electricians/coworkers safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.

  • Recognize safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.

  • Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the field supervisors and operations managers.

  • Complete written and electronic records (i.e., work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, Energy Management, or related/ equivalent field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.

  • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in PV and Battery Energy Storage operations and maintenance preferred.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Current Journeyman Electrician License.

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Solar PV, Battery Storage, Data Acquisition systems.

  • Extensive knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.

  • Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.

  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods of time with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.

  • OSHA training and certification preferred.

  • Travel and flexibility for 'on call' support or varied schedule needs.
