Job Description

What Will Be Your Purpose:

As a Senior Enterprise Competitive Insights Advisor you will lead the data collection and analysis of intelligence, as well as external research efforts, guided by leadership, to collectively understand the overall health care operating environment (competitive, regulatory, financial). You will participate in the development, execution, and communication of competitive research, as well as business and market intelligence insights associated with GuideWell's scope of operations. In addition, you will lead fact-based research and the development of executive ready materials (presentation, memo, and data sets) that will help inform sound responses to competitor actions (product, pricing, strategy, distribution).

What You Will Be Doing:

    Conduct analyses and research to facilitate leadership decision-making processes necessary to quantify business opportunities and risks predicated on geographic dynamics, product, and financial strength, quantifying independent recommendations and insights to align understanding of GuideWell's positioning when compared to competitors at a market and segment level within key operating geographies by:

    * Independently lead the gathering, analysis, and review of research and data sets alongside junior staff and leadership to easily identify takeaways and strategic decision-points

    * Experience in conducting financial modeling and analysis of competitors (stat and GAAP-based, local regulatory), product, and investment filings and synthesis of data to support market positioning

    * Delivers well-structured and articulate memos, data sets, and presentation materials that are executive ready with consultant like quality, while ensuring the accurate and timely research, collection, and analysis of competitors via press releases, earnings, etc.

    * Understand competitor strategic activities including investment, acquisition, and new segment entries

    * Applying knowledge of business processes to understand market dynamics and impact to GuideWell

    * Building collaborative partnerships with key business partners, leadership, and peers

    * Lead discussions with key business partners to ensure project workflows deliverables meet internal department requirements and achievable timelines

    * Succinctly communicating independent and ES&I collaborative analysis and understanding of business concepts to improve GuideWell's positioning

    * Leads smaller-scale projects and discussions with larger multi-functional teams in a hybrid structure

    * Effectively manage resources by providing leadership and direction of project resources to ensure timely project completion and goal achievement

    * Identifies, develops, recommends, and supports the implementation of updated process, procedure, and improvements of research initiatives to realize efficiencies across the organization

    * Engage and manage research vendors to effectively analyze needs, evaluating alternative solutions to generate reliable and valid research that is efficient and effective

    What You Must Have:

    * 7+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Including 4+ years of experience in health care

    * Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

    * Proven track record in delivering results, while anticipating market and product changes based on market research

    What We Prefer:

    * Bachelor's degree Related field

    * Solid understanding of various aspects of the health insurance industry, including funding mechanisms and key strategies to enable winning in local markets (e.g., clinical asset ownership, TPA product strategies, etc.) Previous experience in providing tactical support to business leaders.
