Master Mechanic - Jacksonville Asphalt Plant ($1500 Sign On Bonus & Day 1 Benefits)

Description: Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Master Mechanic for its facility in Jacksonville, FL. The facility produces roofing and asphalt products.

The Master Mechanic performs mechanical and electrical tasks with proven skill working with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, pumps, motors, AC/DC theory, PLC's and other various craft related areas as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  2. Performs industrial facilities mechanical and electrical duties as necessary - pipe fitting, welding, machining, hydraulics and working with sheet metal at a level commensurate to experience.
  3. Oversees and assists in all tank maintenance to ensure safe upkeep and regular compliance.
  4. Comply with all plant rules and corporate policies with regard to business conduct.
  5. Work with and manage third party maintenance activities as needed.
  6. Order parts & supplies for planned maintenance activities.
  7. All other job classification and relative duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications: The applicant should hold the following abilities:Three to five years of relative work related experience. The ability to properly use hand and shop tools (example mechanic tools, welding tools etc). Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with others. Good trouble shooting skills in mechanical and electrical areas. Be able to read and write mechanical and electrical blueprints. Basic computer skills are required. Maintain regular attendance on site and have the ability to work varying shifts or overtime as needed.

You must be able to be certified in Elevated Work and Fall Protection, Confined Space Supervisor & Entrant Duties and Fork Lift operation. Project leadership and planning skills are beneficial.
