Electric Boat's Platform Systems Engineering department provides systems engineering and integration support to the VIRGINIA, Subsea and Seabed Warfare, COLUMBIA, and SSN(X) submarine design programs. We also support other integration efforts including: TOMAHAWK, Conventional Prompt Strike, Special Operations Forces, and UUVs/UAVs.
Platform Systems Engineers work closely with other internal engineering disciplines, various Navy organizations, and industry partners to ensure successful integration of complex systems within the submarine. The opportunity for engineers to regularly engage with lead engineers, subject matter experts, and the customer is invaluable for skill development and career growth.
Role Detail:
D417 is seeking an engineer to work alongside the current payload system engineers in the development, documentation, and maintenance of technical interfaces for VIRGINIA Class Submarine large diameter vertical payload system designs. Interfaces (physical and functional) play a critical role in the successful integration of payload systems such as the existing TOMAHAWK Land Attack Missile and future vertical weapon or payload systems. The roles of the selected candidate will expand as they gain more experience with payload system integration. Some assignments may provide occasional travel opportunities to customer and industry partner locations.
