HDR is hiring a licensed PD&E/Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in Jacksonville, FL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway, roadway and multimodal projects
  • Oversee the work of CADD Designers and possibly EITs
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs and concept plans for roadway, highway and multimodal projects
  • Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis and concept development to final design and through the construction phase
  • Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • PE license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway/highway design
  • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CADD base alignment plans
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience using Microstation
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Local candidates are preferred
  • Experience with Geopak, LDD, or other 3D CAD design software
  • InRoads or Open Roads Designer experience
