Citi's Personal Banking and Wealth Management (PBWM) Organization is a global leader in credit cards, and wealth management, serving as a trusted partner to more than 110 million customers and providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

With the changing global environment, Citi's focus on financial crimes has become even more important and, as such, PBWM is creating a new Global Financial Crimes (GFC) utility. This Financial Crimes utility will streamline accountability and responsibility for Risk & Control activities across PBWM and deliver process consistency to protect the firm against emerging financial crime risks. Financial crime threatens the safety and soundness of financial systems world-wide, in some cases, these crimes threaten the security and safety of the nation. These crimes range from fairly simple operations carried out by individuals or small groups to highly sophisticated rings seeking funding for criminal enterprises or terrorism. Although financial criminals are often well-organized and persistent, bankers and citizens can take proactive steps to thwart their attempts.

We are seeking a Financial Crimes Strategic Planning & Chief of Staff to work collaboratively across the organization to create best in class across the function. As a key member of the leadership team, this leader will be responsible for enabling Strategic Initiatives focusing on driving budget and headcount, financial planning, and reporting.

This position will report to the Head of Global Financial Crimes.

Job Description

  • Operate as the Chief of Staff to drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams.
  • Ensure headcount is accurate, real estate is inventoried and planned, and onboarding and termination of resources are managed for Global Financial Crimes organization
  • Produce all Financial Planning and Reporting to identify opportunities for optimization and perform ad-hoc financial analytics to facilitate senior management decision making
  • Manage budget process and strategic plans while partnering with Finance counterparts on all expense initiatives
  • Produce Reporting & Dashboards
  • Drive collaboration across all Global Financial Crimes organization and counterparts ensuring and promoting close partnerships, driving toward clear shared objectives, mutual trust and confidence, and close collaboration to achieve these shared objectives
  • Leader will help execute opportunities and issues of strategic importance to Financial Crimes team to drive cross-business unit initiatives and ensure effective execution of these initiatives, ensure tracking and measuring are in place for all initiatives.
  • Develop Executive level presentations.
  • Serves as subject matter expert that influences the way things are done
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties
  • Leader will need to develop and manage an effective communication strategy for the Financial Crimes organization located globally across multiple domestic and offshore servicing sites and ranging from non-exempt to exempt professionals. Communication includes a range of forums and media, including formal business reviews and town halls, as well as fun and engaging ways to generate excitement and support for key initiatives and a sense of team.
  • Manages resource supply and demand; may include hiring, staffing, and maintaining a diverse and effective workforce through engaging in talent and development programs as thought leaders and advocate partnering closely with Human Resources.
  • Provide liaison support to the Financial Crimes head to ensure Product owners are informed of overall operations performance as well as provide gateway for strategic business updates from Product owners to teams.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in financial services including extensive experience in budget management, capacity planning, strategy development and execution.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master's degree
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team
  • Collaborative, while firm on goals and driving the extended team toward actions (and deadlines) to achieve them.
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to operationalize the strategy. Strong problem-solving skills
  • Clear and optimistic vision for what can be. Proven ability to execute with urgency and pragmatism in the current environment.
  • High curiosity - proactively seeking to learn more and 'connect the dots' for better solutions. Affinity toward technology as a customer experience enabler.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and highly organized, but able to operate with ease at all levels (from strategy to execution).
  • Deep empathy for customer experience - always analyzing and assessing from the customers' viewpoint.
