Fund Development Specialist
Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, Inc. (HabiJax) is currently seeking a Fund Development Specialist who has a heart for helping families and individuals in need of a hand up to build or improve a place they can call home. HabiJax is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global nonprofit housing organization seeking to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

Position Summary
The Fund Development Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of fund development and community partnership activities to achieve the organization's financial goals. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds, sound financial management skills, strong organizational and prioritization skills, and a commitment to HabiJax's mission, vision, and values.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. The standard hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Some work may be completed remotely.

Work Location:
This position is based out of our Main Office in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Free parking is provided.

Pay Rate:
The starting pay rate for this position is $20 to $22 per hour based on experience.

Essential Duties
Manage donor stewardship and acknowledgment process.
Prepare donor packages and collateral. Prepare mailing lists for donor mailings and communications.
Maintain donor database. Utilize donor database software (i.e. - The Raiser's Edge) as required.
Plan and coordinate donor stewardship and fundraising events.
Research grant opportunities, complete grant requests, and manage grant compliance obligations.
Conduct research on prospects, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners to identify potential donors. Utilize research and screening systems and tools as required.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners to steward potential donor opportunities.
Coordinate and collaborate with Community Partnerships department and HabiJax team.
Be aware of and advocate for the mission, vision, and values of HabiJax and Habitat for Humanity.
Perform additional duties as required and directed.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years experience in non-profit environment preferred
3+ years fund development experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds
Manage time effectively, multi-task & prioritize to meet established goals & deadlines
Attention to detail and persistence in follow up; Strong sense of urgency
Computer proficiency to include the use of Microsoft Office and other required software applications
Valid Driver's License insurable by HabiJax's insurance carrier
Able to successfully pass a background and drug screening
