WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Managing multiple resources through the design and development of a mission critical low latency/high frequency US Trading Order Management Platform. Including all the other integrations and software application facets
  • High client visibility: Interacts with internal/client technical teams and/or users to define system requirements, necessary modifications and, at times, provide production and incident support guidance and oversight.
  • Manages work efforts of managers/supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.
  • Identifies and allocates technical resources, e.g., programmers, business analysts to client projects within Development. Includes a mix of FTEs assigned to the development organization and purchased resources from other lines of business.
  • Forecasts resource needs based on an analysis of both portfolio and projected client spend.
  • Ensures delivery of the platform and associate programs/applications meet the highest quality standards.
  • Provides input on product direction to product managers.
  • Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.
  • Creation and delivery of informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.
  • Understands and manages resources through the full software development lifecycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.
  • Resolves critical issues and contributes to the business unit/area development.
  • Provides guidance and support of resources for the purposes of testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.

WHAT YOU BRING FOR EXPERIENCE:

  • 15+ years of overall experience within Capital Markets.
  • 10+ years of technology experience within the Trading and Brokerage space.
  • Well versed and thorough understanding of Equity/Trading systems, Order and Enterprise Trading Management Platforms (Enterprise Management)
  • Knowledge of financial industry practices, regulations, and workflows.
  • Experience with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards.
  • Ability to work U.S. Eastern time zone in support of US trading hours.
  • Strong leadership skills: Leadership qualities to lead with example, deliver under pressure and plan for uncertainties.
  • A bachelor's in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Team player skills to build and maintain professional relationship with internal and external clients

Required Technical Skills

  • Low Latency/High Frequency Trading Platform Backend Development and design using Core Java, C, Database (Sybase or other), Linux, Solaris
  • TCP/IP, Multicast and Network Programming using Java NIO
  • Core JAVA
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Strong understanding of Network and socket programming
  • Strong and thorough understanding of Complex application architecture including
    • low latency/high throughput systems
    • Multi-threading
    • High availability
    • Distributed systems
    • Stream processing
    • Event driven systems.
  • Data structures, Algorithms and Strong understanding of design patterns
  • CI/CD automation
  • SQL

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $193,820.00 - $325,630.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
