About the team:

The team is responsible to run the platform rationalization programmes. This is a high visibility programmes to ensure we are working with the various teams to drive the platform migration, migration frame for moving clients to the new systems. This is a new team formed to drive the TechNext programmes and ensure that we are closely working with all stakeholders.

What you will be doing:

  • The primary responsibility of the Senior Director, Information Technology is to manage the IT teams that support Tech Next rationalization program, ensuring that they are aligned to support FIS's ability to successfully meet its business objectives.
  • The Senior Director, IT will plan, design, and direct activities associated with enterprise wide platform consolidation and rationalization efforts.
  • This is a 3 to 5-year program that entails rationalization of 33% of platforms in a seamless manner, with minimal client disruptions.
  • The Senior Director, IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to deliver the outcomes associated with these rationalization efforts.

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with Vice President, IT Group Executive to formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for enabling efficient and cost-effective client migration tool set that would support platform migrations and streamline new client implementations.
  • Manage a team of analysts, engineers, PMs, with expertise and ownership across various domains, core banking, payment solutions, merchant gateways etc.
  • Guide business and IT leaders in making investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.
  • Provide technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices.

Operational Management

  • Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, department leads, support staff, and end users.
  • Develop and review budgets for and from IT department divisions and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT systems.
  • Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all software based on department needs.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's senior leaders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

What you bring:

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree, or a master's degree. Degrees in computer science, information systems, or business administration with technology as a core component preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience in IT strategic planning and development, project management, and/or policy development.
  • Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and the correct project application
  • Knowledge of financial services industry
  • Knowledge of FIS products and services is preferred
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business processes, managing staff, budgeting, and/or overseeing business office operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to development and engineering
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
