OVERVIEW
Responsible for creating the production schedule considering the smooth and cost-efficient flow of jobs to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum waste.
The planner is also responsible to determining labor, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production; monitor the overall situation including demand, supply chain problems, inventory, quality issues, to ensure parts are fabricated on time according to demand and minimize the impact on production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create the production schedule to fabricate products on time according to demand and safety stocks.
- Schedule smooth flow of work orders to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum waste.
- Create the production plan considering restrictions including number of molding machines, tonnages, machine hours, number of tools available and cavities.
- Monitor overall situation including demand spikes, supply chain problems, inventory adjustments, quality issues, and address issues when they arise aiming for minimum production impact.
- Performs root cause analysis on late orders and collaborate with quality control, warehouse and production areas to implement countermeasures.
- Makes improvements to established processes.
- Coordinate recurring meetings with Inter Branch companies to communicate status, provide completion dates and shipping plans.
- Perform monthly and weekly analysis of Capacity vs. Demand (RCCP).
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand and communicate the needs.
- Schedule productions shifts and determine overtime hours according to production needs.
- Monitor the daily output (plan adherence, efficiency, defect rate)
- Create reports to monitor KPI's, report status, etc. as needed.
- Maintain Standard Work and Work Instruction updated.
- KAIZEN participation & continuous improvement programs is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years Experience as production planner preferred
- Knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
- Bachelor degree (Engineering, Administration, Logistics)
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Technical skills using material requirements planning
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
