We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our facility in Tolland CT.  

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

The Senior Accountant will be part of a Corporate Finance team in charge of the reliability of balances and activity in the company’s general ledger and management of cash, taxes, insurance, and leases. The position will report to the Controller. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Adheres and actively contributes to a strict close period 

  • Reconciles various accounts related to areas of responsibility 

  • Participates in monthly forecasting, reporting and the annual budget 

  • Manages accruals related to the company’s variable compensation programs 

  • Analyzes and reports on intercompany transactions to ensure booking consistent with company policy 

  • Assists with Corporate cash management, taxes, insurance and leases 

  • Reviews and automates financial systems and processes 

  • Assists with periodic external audits as required 

  • Other tasks as requested 

 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RELATIONS: 

 

The Senior Accountant will work with Lectra employees and executives. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Computer literate to include Microsoft Environment: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and especially strong skills in Excel 

  • Knowledge of large ERP system (SAP a plus) 

  • Analytical with strong attention to detail  

  • Results oriented with a sense of urgency 

  • Ability to communicate and work within multiple levels of management 

  • Works well independently and with a team 

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, master's degree or CPA is a plus  

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience including budget and forecasting, accruals, reconciliations, general knowledge of payroll/benefit accounting, and intercompany reconciliations. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

 

Ability to sit and type at computer station for long periods of time.   

 

TRAVEL/OTHER: 

 

  • The position is based in Tolland, CT United States 

  • The position requires three days a week in the company office in Tolland.
