Summary of Job:
Perform all associated task included in line assembly operation to mass-produce products. To work efficiently and safely while maintaining target range on the following KPS's: discrepancies, accidents, repairs, reworks, material yield, desired delivery dates and inventory cycle counts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work at different workstations as production needs require
- Assemble products for stock as needed
- Assist Quality Control in production
- Observe all safety regulations and procedures of the facility
- Assist with keeping production area clean and organized
- Participate in kaizen activities to achieve productivity and quality improvements
- Train associates as required
- Perform support operations including, but not limited to Forklift Operator, Team Lead, Inventory, and Receiving
- Notify supervisor of non-conforming product
- Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or work practices
- Keep freezer location organized and maintain FIFO order (first in-first out)
- Material management to utilize end rolls
- Read and understand BCDs
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Two to three (3) years related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience within the cutting department.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop operation
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must work well with others and be a team member
- Ability to accept direction from peers
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, sitting, and lifting or pulling to 40 pounds
Safety Requirements:
- General Safety Guidelines and other guidelines are required by specific duties assigned
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing work environment - inside -climate controlled.
