Job Description
UW-Madison, Division of Extension offices are located in each Wisconsin county with faculty that work diligently to develop practical educational programs tailored to local needs based on university knowledge and research. The Extension delivers these education programs where people live and work, whether it’s on the farm, in schools, and/or in community centers.

An important and well-supported program within Extension Jefferson County is the 4-H Program. 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization, with more than 150,000 young people in urban, suburban, and rural settings involved within Wisconsin alone. Youth ages 5-19 learn important life skills like leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and communication to help prepare them for successful futures, all while in engaging in fun, hands-on activities. In Wisconsin, the program has nearly 13,000 adult volunteers to serve as mentors and role models for youth participants and help provide safe, interactive places for youth to take risks, practice their independence, and master new skills.

For the summer of 2020, Extension Jefferson County is seeking a 4-H Summer Intern to provide assistance in the development of education programs to support the Jefferson County 4-H Program. This includes developing and marketing programs, and other project based work.
