Job/Internship Description

Ameresco is looking for a summer intern based in our Framingham, MA headquarters. The position will join the Solar PV Grid-Tie team that develops and installs renewable generation projects on landfills, carports, rooftops, and ground mounted systems. Position responsibilities are primarily project-based. The selected candidate will support the development, design, and operation of multi-million-dollar solar energy projects and work closely with the analysts, engineers and project development staff who create and manage these projects.

Depending on the skillset and interest of selected candidates, applicable responsibilities as seen below will be emphasized.

Responsibilities

Policy and Research:

Monitor and research state and federal policy developments that affect the Solar PV and energy storage industries;

Help follow industry association updates on solar and energy storage policy and regulations throughout the East Coast;

Assist in analysis to support the Solar PV Grid-Tie team's decision-making regarding markets and opportunities to pursue

Asset Management:

Assist in the management of Ameresco's community solar projects;

Perform reporting on solar portfolio performance and participate in reporting improvement efforts;

Work with Ameresco's asset management software to ensure the integrity of project data;

Project Management:

Support project managers in evaluating project opportunities by conducting preliminary due diligence;

Apply policy research to evaluating project opportunities to help determine economic viability;

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

Progress towards a graduate or undergraduate degree in business, economics, or engineering;

Self-starter, able to work independently, take initiative and develop good working relationships with junior and senior team staff;

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands;

Excellent computer skills including strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Strong verbal, written, technical communication and presentation skills;

Prior work experience in solar, wind, or other renewable energy technologies
