Job/Internship Description

CTI and Associates, Inc. (CTI) is a provider of environmental

Job Description:

CTI is looking for motivated and eager students to continue
their education in a hands-on, real life setting. All interns will be
responsible for safely executing field operations (i.e. field mechanical work,
field sampling, miscellaneous maintenance or minor construction, etc.), inspecting
activities, documenting observations, and verifying work performed is compliant
with contract drawings and specifications. Interns will be responsible
for performing inspection duties at various stages of project operations for
code and contract specification compliance.

  • Demonstrates
    consistent/exemplary safety compliance.
  • Performs
    field tests of materials, such as concrete, soils, and asphalt, using
    prescribed methods (typically ASTM and AASHTO standards) deemed standard
    within employee discipline (CMT, landfill,
    CQA).
  • Observes/tests
    work in progress to ensure conformity with engineering
    specifications.
  • Obtains
    samples of construction materials for further laboratory
    testing.
  • Documents
    all relevant site activities and performs minor calculations.
  • Participates
    in environmental health and safety performance improvement efforts.
  • Must be able
    to work constructively in diverse teams including engineers, technicians,
    and non-technical personnel.
  • Must possess
    excellent organization, written communication, and oral communication
    skills.
  • Must have
    attention to detail.
  • Superb
    computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications include:

  • Pursuing
    a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related major in school.
  • 0-3 years
    related experience is preferred.

Additional
Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to
    travel locally.
  • CTI is a Drug-Free Workplace -
    Must pass pre-hire drug screen.
  • Must
    possess valid driver's license. Applicants whose driving
    records indicate "Unsatisfactory" status for any reason are not eligible
    for employment in roles for which driving is an essential job function.
  • Must be able to physically
    navigate construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift and carry
    up to 40 pounds.
